Reading Time: 2 minutes

During the 08/24/2011 meeting of the 501c4 Board of Directors of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation, the Board accepted and adopted the U.S. Military Membership Program as proposed by Sa Bom Nim Bill Nelson of the Technical Advisory and author of Your Weapon Within.”

Sa Bom Nim Bill Nelson proposed the Federation offer free memberships to all military personnel in recognition of their service to our country and that Certified Studio Owners be encouraged to consider offering free or discounted training opportunities to Military Personnel for the same reason.

Board Directors deemed that his proposal embodies our art's Moo Do values, is congruent with the Federation's Chartered Purposes and demonstrates our organization's member's respect and appreciation for the service of our military personnel.

During discussion Board Directors also observed that military personnel of the Korean war are largely responsible for the existence of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation and that adopting theU.S. Military Membership Program seemed a very appropriate action for the Board to take.

Directors also discussed how the 501c4 Board of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation might coordinate with the 501c3 Board of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan FOUNDATION to help generate the funding necessary to sustain and/or expand the U.S. Military Membership Program.

Move that U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation shall provide free membership for all active U.S. military personnel (all branches and reserves) and their household members who enroll in aCertified Studio or Certified Teaching Program and submit a membership application in accordance with Federation guidelines effective September 1, 2011. The U.S. Military Membership Program shall continue until modified or canceled by the Board of Directors.
